Not one sting...so far.
Today we received word from our local post office that our bees had arrived! Yesterday, Jean, Sue and Marsha had done the finishing touches to the beehive, watched the how-to video at least twice, and quoted bee poetry aloud from a book while sipping tea.
Ok, so that last part isn't true, the part about poetry. But it wouldn't have surprised me if they had.
You can see some of the more recent photographs we've uploaded are from today's endeavor. Hopefully we'll see some honey before the year is out, possibly even enough to make some honey porter with this year, and perhaps mead next year!
