Site Clearing

We were lucky with hurricane Isabel - we only lost power for a day or so, and it afforded me a day off work to help Jean clear the site!

Friday Jean and I cleared and Kathy came out to help, as well as brought lunch:) Saturday Jean and I were out there on our own, but managed ok. The real progress was on Sunday when my Dad and mom were out there with us, using their Kubota tractor to push down trees, and grade the site. Kathy also helped out in the afternoon, so between all of us we got all the clearing done for final staking and footer digging!

Unfortunately, we had to push down a couple of cherry trees that would have been in our drainfield, but we're going to use the wood in the interior decorating of the house. Wait and see-we have something good planned.

We have a lot on our schedule- click on the "hearthwood schedule" link on the main page to check it out. Mac users, you can "subscribe" to our calendar via iCal for instant updates!
