The day after Christmas, Bob, Justin, Larry, Evan and myself got together to taste some excellent Scotches, some of which we'd given and received for gifts.

Macallan 18
Sherry Oak Casks
Nose: Sherry! Wooy; floral
Taste: Maple syrup, wood, sweet and dark. Thinner than the cask, slight pepper.
Personal: after a concrete job at Justin's, on a brisk day, the perfect dram. Smoother than the cask, very refined, like a violin. Not commanding though, like the symphony of the Uigeadail.
